About Us
Our MissionAt Twin Roots Therapy Collective, our goal is to offer healing spaces where authenticity is welcomed, culture is celebrated, and mental health care is prioritized. We are grounded in the belief that healing takes root in connection - to ourselves, to each other, and to our cultural identities.
We aim to provide culturally affirming, trauma-informed mental health care rooted in equity, compassion, and community. As a women-of-color-owned practice, we are dedicated to promoting resilience and emotional well-being for those that we serve. Our commitment to uplifting marginalized voices, creating safe and nurturing environments, and fostering growth is reflected in every aspect of our therapeutic approach. Like twin roots that draw strength from shared soil, we believe that healing is strengthened through intersectional and collective care.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and neither is the way we approach it. Our work is grounded in trauma-informed, relational, and evidence-based care. We start with your story: what you’re carrying, what has shaped you, and what you’re hoping will feel different. We don’t make you fit the therapy; we shape the therapy around you.
Our Approach to Therapy
-
Creating a sense of acceptance for difficult thoughts and feelings while building a life that feels more aligned with your values.
-
Noticing thought patterns, assumptions, and behaviors that keep you stuck and practice responding to them differently.
-
Developing skills to better understand intense emotions, navigate difficult moments, and build more effective ways of coping.
-
Understanding the different parts of yourself that carry fear, guilt, perfectionism, or responsibility, and approach them with more curiosity and compassion.
-
Using play, drawing, painting, and other creative activities as ways for children and teens to express feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words, while building emotional awareness, confidence, and coping skills.
-
Helping you focus on what is within your control, understand the choices shaping your life, and develop practical strategies to create meaningful change.
-
Noticing how stress, emotions, and past experiences show up in your body and develop greater awareness of what your nervous system needs.
-
Helping process difficult experiences while building skills for managing emotions, thoughts, and patterns that continue to affect how you feel, think and respond in the present.
